Friends of Laguna Atascosa NWR (Friends) seeks candidates for openings (3) on its Board of Directors. The Board is a working Board and as such is very involved in the programs and services of the organization. The Board is also responsible for the governance and oversight of the Friends group, sets policies, and determines the overall direction of the organization.

Applicants should be able and willing to meet the following basic requirements:

1. Commitment to being a member of and supporting the mission of the Friends organization
2. Being an advocate for the Friends organization in your own circles
3. Attendance at Board meetings and the annual membership meeting
4. Participation in at least one Friends sub-committee
5. Participation in Friends fundraising events and contributing to the support of the Friends organization

Service on the Friends Board of Directors offers the following benefits:
